and most important: it’s all about the JOURNEY with the Youth and bringing them closer to the Lord! There’s a wonderful prize waiting at the end! I and I feel I had a glimpse at it already!

In response to: Mother Teresa 100 - missionary

Fr. Peter Francis X sdb (INM)

Dear Rev. Fr. Klement Vaclav SDB.,
I Thank You! & Appreciate You, for the Wonderful Expression about the Missionary Zeal portrayed in this blog through the words of Mother Theresa: it’s inspiring! I do find in you, a person dedicated in spreading the same fragrance of Salesian Missionary spirit around the continents, as the Councillor for the Missions.
Thanks for your Indian visit. I came to Tirupattur to listen to you and enjoyed your sharing! You had come for Breakfast to Don Bosco, Gandhinagar-Vellore before leaving to Tirupattur where I met you. Hope you remember us all!
It’s true that one need to be attached to Christ before being a Missionary… We are called to ‘Be with Him & then go out To Proclaim!’ As even the STRENNA-2010 calls us to be ‘His disciples staying close to Him before becoming His Apostles…’
As you do now on the net, apart from your journeys meeting people, one can be a missionary where ever one resides! But if still when need arise & calls for a shift, one need to place oneself in which ever place one is called to go forth for the sake of the Gospel & God’s Glory…
Moreover, the Call to be a Missionary in this Millennium urges us to use the Modern Technologies of Communication wisely reaching out to many, as even Our Holy Father & Our Rector Major exhort us, the Church & the Congregation to use Modern Media to Proclaim the Gospel! Let us show the world especially, the Young who get immersed in the internet, ‘…Where the Rabbi, Jesus Lives!’- STRENNA-2011. Let our Young people meet Him even on the net!
Pray for me, dear Father Klement, as I too am deeply interested in being a true Salesian Missionary!
More to share…Meet you soon, on the SDBblog!
Grazie!

Am a great supporter of Cagliero 11 because it keeps us updated and it keeps the Salesian Universal Mission of Don Bosco Alive. Let us keep moving ahead reaching out to many as far as the Holy Spirit guides us. Congratulations to those who offer themselves for the young in any way. God Bless us.

In response to: Anno sacerdotale - anno dei coadiutori

rogelio arenal

dear salvatore - i was truly touched to read your vocation story - what a wonderful testimony to God’s call and to a young person’s readiness to pay the price in responding…i have lived some years in Italy and so can understand a wee bit what a great culture leap you had to make to enter the Church and the Salesian way of life - it must be hard for the confreres too who have a certain mind-set about roms…but i am sure that you will be breaking the glass ceiling and charting a course for many other young people who come from the margins and ‘outside’ into religious life…keep your eyes on the Master who calls and share your story with many others - it is an epic of courage and of fidelity to a call albeit with its fair share of failure and disappointments…matthew sdb (shillong-india)

Dear Salvatore, I read your sharing of yourself and I should say it is very touching. I frankly do not totally understand all that you mention about your culture and the difficulties it posed/poses. Perhaps because I am from a different culture and therefore unable to really grasp your deep rooted sentiments about the same. However, I just would like you to know that I greatly appreciate your sincere effort at finding out where God wants you to be and in taking the necessary steps in that direction.

Come what may, say what anyone may, but if you are convinced that this is where God wants you to be and that you are totally thrilled about it and really cherish your vocation, then take courage, I am with you!!

God bless you and all your genuine intentions. May the Lord bless us with more young people who have a courageous heart like yours!

Yours in Don Bosco,
Castilino (Hyderabad, India)
